Want free and really efficient FORTRAN and C++ compilers for your ix86 Linux system? INTEL (unsupported) opensource versions of its optimized Linux compilers are available here and here. Simon Prunet (Planck team at IAP) reports very good performance with the FORTRAN stuff. More on this later.
