Minutes for the Terapix meeting of 5th of March 2009 Present: Mathias M., Henry, Greg, Fred, Yannick and Yuliana

MegaCam CFHTLS:

PI data reductions
 Yuliana is reducing WIRCAM Ibata data; the problems with the astrometric solution comes from saturated pixels. A new interactive cut on the seeing has been added.

 Development for QualityFITS; problems with PSFex keywords not being correctly found in QualityFITS. Unfortunately, this effect is not reproducible.

 WIRDS-D1 stacks will be made available at the end of month. High-z clusters, 2pt galaxy correlation function and the bispectrum are the scientific topics we will be working on.

 COSMOS-u* data will need to be reprocessed for T06; Yannick needs an OK from the COSMOS collaboration; henry will contact Dave Sanders and friends to get the necessary authorisations.

 Henry has promised to finish the reductions for 07BC23 by the end of next week. There are considerable problems with this run, given that it consists of several dense fields which were observed without 'off' field calibrations.

 An XML Text file can be uploaded with a list of images. Tags also demoed.

 Yuliana will work with Youpi next week possibly on processing D2-u* data in W4 dataset.

 Greg is working on a SExtractor plug in for YOUPI

 Considerable discussion of the best naming convention for the catalogues for the output dual mode, it should be generated from a combination of the measurement image and detection images.

 Similar discussion around how the stacked images should be named.

 Discussion how images could be selected with tagging. For the minute the suggestion is to make a set of tags which could be used for the CFHTLS to select images. Yannick will try to define a tag selection process for the CFHTLS. We need to think further how a name could be constructed from the image tags.

Hardware

 Various other linux distributions distributions have been investigated. Unfortunately these other distributions are not as flexible and they are missing a lot of packages. So we will stick with Gentoo.

 Fred will install ZFS on a machine in the basement and Henry can make some 'swarp of death tests'. Henry expresses concern regarding the reliability of ZFS.

 Fcix5 will be ready by Mid-March, so that Yannick can begin preparations for T06.
