Minutes for Terameeting of 23rd January Present: everyone.
Misc: It is agreed that 15:30 for the weekly TERAPIX meetings is a little bit late. The next meeting will start at 14:30.
Panorapix (Fred) WCS function now works. CFITSIO will be changed by Fred and Anthony to make it more useable, and re-released for the public. The MEF patch should be available from the CFITSIO developers before the end of next week. There is now a version of panorapix-- "pano MEF". Still a problem with the WCS, the WCS loaded aren't the real MEFs. Panorapix is Fred's top priority. We need to have a tool ready for AstroWise soon, *one week* (at the latest) before Fred leaves to meet Brazilian beauties.
Scamp (Emmanuel) Some remaining bugs not fixed yet. Problem right now comes from when many images are input.
SWarp (Emmanuel) Problem found by Henry in SWarp has been fixed.
Defectix (Anthony) CFITSIO library needs work to handle MEFs (see above), Defect generator in testing phase.
Muticolour stacking and data (Henry) Deep i* D3 stack prepared. r* stack being SWarped. g and z data should be ready shortly. Cosmetic problems observed from the small dither offsets for the deep.
Photometry (Mireille/Henry). It turns out that the CFHT zero points *really were* in instrumental magnitudes. Stellar color-color plot done by Mireille using Landolt and 03AF19 data now match Pickles' tracks very well.
Spica (Laurent) We need to be able to add information about bad images (for instance, if there is blockage of guide probe). A "Terapix quality criteria" and a "Terapix comment" will be added to data. First tests will be done by eye. Three quality values : A (accepted),B (acceptable but read comment), C (unacceptable) Related question: which images should be used to construct the stacks? 0.9->1.1 arcsecond. How many releases should we make? SPICA in the Web interface (PI) mode: Mireille and Gilles should test this.
Data backups (Emmanuel, Fred). How to do backups of 1.1Tera of data? Apparently Lyon are not ready to receive our data. Lyon (Fred) and CDS (Yannick) will be asked if they can help up with backups.
Dbclient/panier (Gerard) (1.) loading images with header problems should be solved next week. Modified code to add a new class which has a blank value.
(2.) bug dbcatalogue (tested with catalogues of 6MB). CFITSIO crashes with table of 6MB). Fred will discuss with Gerard (Fred may have the solution).
(3.) panier (no work).
(4.) AVO report should be prepared for Yannick soft which transfers fits into AVO table. AVO document containing everything should be ready by Monday, Jan. 26. UCD nothing new
ICD document (Jean-Christophe) Jean-Christophe made important progress on the ICD document, but still a lot to do. Yannick will read the document.
Megacam C. Dougados and CFH12k Coma cluster (Mazure, J.-P. Picat) data (Gilles): Nothing new here. Waiting for C. Dougados input
Two "stagiaires" who applied for positions at TERAPIX have been rejected due to lack of money and time.
Hardware (Emmanuel, Fred) Tyan Opteron motherboards don't work: define with vendor (Mr. L.) condition of exchange (the cards were guaranteed to work under linux.) Fred / and or Yannick will call mr. L this week to inquire about replacing the Opteron motherboards with those from another vendor. Fiber channel cards still not working on the Opteron.
CFHTLS Science cluster: Fred/Yannick will take care of the installation of the system. But panorapix is Fred's top priority right now.
Those wishing to attend the CFHTLS meeting on the 13-17 May in BC should send an email to Delphine.
Action: find out from Luc about the 2003B. When it will be available?
Next Terameeting on January the 30th at **14.30*** (note the new time)
