Tera-minutes of the October 9, 2006 meeting

Present: Mireille, Chiara, Laurent, Henry, Anis, Mathias, Yannick, Fred, Chiara.

Absent: Anthony

French CFHTLS users' meeting (Yannick, Henry)

-  Henry will organise the logistics with Delphine:
-  50 persons for the CFHTLS users meeting
-  30 additional people will also be present
-  Delphine should tell the people at the canteen about this
-  There should be croissants provided in the morning for the meeting, as well as coffee for the morning break at 10.00 and afternoon break at 16.00

Fete de la Science (Yannick, Henry, Laurent)

-  Laurent Vigroux confirmed that order has been made
-  the LCD arrived this afternoon
-  Laurent and Henry will organise the following technical points:

-  Should verify that everything works by Thursday; Henry will contact Jean-Charles.
-  Emmanuel's old windows PC is available
-  Jean-Charles sent a mail Thursday about the camera; Henry will manage the link-up.

Panorapix : (Anis)
-  All the images of type FITS can be displayed, but cannot load all MEF files together
-  The software has not been really tested with other systems (has it been compiled on 64 bit systems?): portablitity os now the first priority. Anis will install a version of Panorapix on mix7/mix2 for testing,
-  The printing and image overlay module have still to be written.

WIRCam (Chiara)
-  Bouvier data has been pre-processed
-  Data Y-band is hard to do; apparently no standards have been taken by CFH.
-  JHK stacked image made, which can be delivered to the PI
-  For the Y data the calibration has not been made and still poses a problem
-  Zero point has not been calculated for these images,
-  Mathias provided effective throughput derived from avaialble (partial) information. Sounds ok, but not fully satisfactory.
-  Yannick will write to Christian Veillet about these issues.
-  mix9 is very slow, seems to be a problem with the 3-Ware firmware card; Fred will investigate in order to have something working when Chiara is back fro ADASS.
-  ls at /home/nis/ seems to work
-  this happens with much smaller numbers of images

MEGACAM, PI data : (Mireille)
-  04AH46 was completed by July 2004 (to be inserted by Laurent in the PI Runid table),
-  06AH18 graded by Henry, nothing more done,
-  For the Cowie data, the student has contacted Mireille about the .fz compression;
-  Henry will provide a MEGACAM/WIRCam FAQ.
-  Data from 03AF01 (Jean-Paul Kneib); 23 images ; 6 grade "D"; R image doesn't work
-  Several problems with no photometric solution or problem with astrometry. Mireille will ask Jean-Charles a copy of the Obs-Log and whether these data can be fully or partially Elixir-ed again
-  these data dates from start of Megacam, where there might be a problem with the corrector (flip L3 not done yet, spacer not inserted yet)
-  the megacam.ahead which is used might not be correct. Emmanuel will try to look at this... but leaving tomorrow and has his talk/poster to prepare

-  YANNICK must release T020 data to CFHTLS users. stacks done by Laurent and ready for ftpix.

SCAMP : (Emmanuel)

-  VO-table format output implemented and tested
-  XML style sheets written for SCAMP ; software now 'VO-table compliant'
-  'escalope' still to be fixed. Goal: "escalope" fixed by October 27, so that T0004 QFITS-in starts first week in November

QFITS :(Fred

-  Chiara notes that there is a problem with the latest version of QFITS on pix3 though it works on mix9
-  Fred is about to finish the C-version of the full res. sub-area analysis module (about 2 more days of work)
-  Still have VO-table functionality to add to QFITS; this should be ready for Friday

T0004 : (Yannick, all)

-  Goal: starts Nov. 1st/
-  Will only run the QFs on the new images
-  Emmanuel should fix the 'escalope' for the end of October
-  Data is still being downloaded from CFH
-  Image taken at 1st September 2006 of t04 planning shown by Fred:
-  T0003 backed up on ftpix and links on T0003 done
-  Replication g still to be done;
-  Latest version of QFITS to be delivered by Fred
-  We may have files missing that were on fc3/fc4, Laurent suggests we just run SPICA and see whether some stacks are on errors.
-  Willot w1-u* does not need to be done
-  Henry will provide 'real' ugri-counts for Fred for the QF pages as he did for the z-counts
-  Deep T0004 stacks will be prepared with two seeing cuts (25% of the best images, 85% of all the images).

Release-T0003 table
-  Need to add the .head files and several other useful links to Laurent's pages; some users asked for this
-  for T0004 we decide the paths for all the links before the release starts, then a table will be prepared in advance with all the fields to be processed for T0004 and will be filled as the processing advances
