Tera-minutes of the August 4 2006 meeting
Present: M. Dantel, C. Marmo, H. McCracken (jet-laged and experiencing coffee withdrawal symptoms), E. Bertin, F. Magnard, M. Schultheis (Video), Y. Mellier
Absent: A. Baillard, L. Domisse, A. Rojbi
- Data PI 04AF09 (Robin): (Mathias)
Mathias looked at all new stacks processed by SPICA. The list of all images was sent to teralist. Most problems are related to SCAMP as was pointed out earlier by Mireille, with the previous stacks done with the new retina. The data are not acceptable for science now. Need to wait for a new SCAMP.
- Data release T0003: (Fred, mathias, Yannick)
All Deep and Wide data are now at CADC. Change-Log files have been updated accordingly. Mathias will check whether all data are now available at CADC. Note: mathias checked : all data are there and easily available, but the effective earea are missing.
- Data PI 05BH13 and 06AH44 (Tully): (Mireille)
The 104 image-by-image stacks have been done by Mireille using the SCAMP .head files created by SPICA. Overall , QFTITS-out data are ok for delivery. Fred will transfer each output file (image and its weight map image + QFITS-out data) to ftpix prior to compress. They should be available to Tully by th beginning of next week. Yannick will check some of them over the week end.
Mireille will produce a BIG stacks will ALL individual stacks (resolution 0.186"/pixel). Emmanuel will run SCAMP on the Tully's data using SDSS instead of USNO-B1. Yannick will provide the master mask that masks the gaps between CCDs and the CCD boudaries.
- Data WIRCam: (Chiara)
The GOODS data have been processed. Excellent interactions with M. Dickinson. In contrast with Cosmos data, some GOODS data show mag. ZP differences between each image of a slice. It results in magnitude offsets with the 2MASS data that can reach up to 0.06 mag. Chiara is working on this issue. It seems the Keyword Phot_[i] introduced by Loic in the header contains the mag. ZP differences between each slice, so Chiara need to modify the pipeline to include this input correction.
WIRCam ZPs are given for Airmass=1 , instead of Airmass=0 for Megacam. It seems strange the CFHT imaging data do not have homogeneous meta-data in their header. Yannick will ask Christian Veillet whether CFHT could keep header information of Megacam and WIRCam as homogeneous as possible.
Henry made intersting comments and the Cosmos processing did at UH over the past 2 weeks. Henry will make a detailled debriefing to terapix soon. He will propose dates next week.
- SWarp: (Emmanuel)
Emmanuel fixed several bugs in SWarp (one serious, but did not impact on the current usage of SWarp by Terapix for PI and CFHTLS data).
SWarp can now provide a "maximum exposure time" that corresponds to the total exposure time over the pixels with maximum overlaps between eack stacked image.
Emmanuel fixed the coordinate problems (that produced dust images with wrong positions, in particular). Yannick has to check it works on a series of images were the problems were found.
- Hardware: (Fred)
Fred installed the UPS and several are now working properly (clean shutdown). Need to buy 4 SNMP boards for the other UPS that cannot work otherwise (200 euros/board).
The automount problem has been understood and Fred found the solution to fix it. Need to be checked prior to close this ticket.
Chiara found QFITS is not running on mix9. There are still some checks to do by Fred on the current installation on mix9 prior to go further (replication on each node). Fred will also update the intranet page with the current software version installed at Terapix. The global replication will be done once Laurent will be back because only Laurent can make a SPICA installation properly. Goal: August 28.
- Other matters (dotproject) (all)
W1 u-band stacks extended to all u-band data (no filter). Nothing done. Need laurent to generate the stacks and run SPICA.
W3 advising message. Henry will do this next week.
Local USNOB-1 catalogue: Fred downloaded the USNO-B1 again and checked the data integrity. The new local catalogue has no problem anymore. Chiara reminded Laurent failed to run again SPICA on VW stacks that crashed earlier because of this local USNO-B1 problem. However, Fred succeeded to run SCAMP on these VW data using the local catalogue and the current Laurent's SCAMP command line. So , nothing conclusive yet. It may be there is a problem with SPICA. Need futher checks by Laurent.
Cleaning the Terapix web pages: next meeting Monday August 7, 4pm.
T0003 and table for T0003 release: on going. Yannick put all files on SVN, so anyone can now work on it. Expected delivery of the final document: August 20.
QFITS galaxy counts in z-bands: Henry provided the data to Fred. Fred must change all z-band counts plots in QFITS-in/out. Dead line august 31.
Skywatcher: nothing done. Yannick has to contact Jean-Christophe.
Poster : nothing happened over the week. All was set by Jean Mouette and Yannick the two previous weeks. Poinot should be back on August 7.
- Next Tera-meeting: Friday August 11.
