Minutes for the terameeting for Feb. February 7th 2006

Present: Yannick, Emmanuel, Anis, Jean-Christophe, Fred, Henry Anthony, Chiara, Mathias

PI DATA
-  MEGACAM: 03BH98 Tully data have been Qfits-ed and graded; Mireille is running SCAMP/Swarp/etc..; u* observations causes problems
-  MEGACAM: Still waiting to receive the Dougados 04BF28 data from CADC
-  WIRCAM: Sanders data has been taken and are at the CFHT; we are awaiting CFHT to complete the pre-processing processing,
-  WIRCAM: Fouchez data, same status as Sanders
-  WIRCAM: Cuby, Henry producing catalogues using visible+NIR data. Will deliver them to Jean-Gabriel. Yannick ask Henry to keep Chiara and Yannick informed on any progress.

T0003-WIDE (Yannick, Mathias, Henry)
-  Mathias has made comparisons between the CFHTLS and the SDSS;
-  Mathias will provide some text concerning his comparison to be provided on the web-pages
-  One problem is that for the u* and z* filters obtained so far are in the W1 area, so there is no overlap with the Sloan. In the overlap area, only r,g and i data are available.
-  CADC have been informed that we would like to provide the wide data to the community on the 14th Feb.

Table-T0003
-  Apparently the T0003 table is not ready because of a problem with file permissions
-  Yannick will produce a manual version of the table if no-one is able to sort out these problems by Friday

V0003 (Emmanuel, Yannick)

-  According to Emmanuel the megacam.ahead is ready and we can re-start the processing for the very-wide data

-  Note that the Scamp configuration file has to be changed; POSANGLE_MAXERR et MATCH_NMAX need to be changed
-  Emmanuel will provide a new bug-fix release version of Scamp
-  currently, only around 30% of the fields are unusable;
-  In the re-processing of the very-wide we will add another machine (mix6,mix3 and mix4 in total); should take around 20 days (hopefully)

Webservice QFits (Jean-Christophe)
-  A bug was found in the service which is triggered when a '+' sign is present in the input image filename; this has been fixed

-  Emmanuel will provide some WFI images to test the service; Mathias will also try to test the service remotely from Besancon, tests have to be done with WIRCAM, FORS, MEGACAM MEF and stacks, CFHT12k stacks
-  Webservice will be made public before Feb. 14.

Visualisation tool (Anis)
-  Some tests made with the OpenVidia programming library which may allow acceleration for large images
-  However, for no FITS images have been displayed
-  Anis will will try with a small FITS image of 256x256 and the shader library to see if this image can be displayed as a FEASIBILITY study. Goal: have a FITS image displayed by Friday.

Other stuff
-  2MASS catalogue has been installed locally
-  Laurent will modify aclientTerapix.pl used by Scamp so that this catalogue is called during processing
-  Yannick asks everyone to send him which dates they are available in the February - March time-frame for discussions concerning the processing of T0004.

Hardware

-  Enough credits to order two machines like mix7. Goal: having mix8+mix9 and a fcix2 out/in disks by June 2006 in the cluster. Emmanuel will order an Efigix.
-  The process will be started probably at the start of march; so they are ready for June, at least three months before T0004
-  Need to check that there is enough electricity available!
