Terameeting 30th May 2006 2006

present Mireille, Chiara, Mathias (by videoconf), Yannick, Henry, Anis, Emmanuel, Anthony absent: Fred, Laurent

status of wide data, Mathias
-  W3 comparison: Mathias has compared magnitudes in the wide W3 with those in the Sloan; everything seems to fine; no evidence of systematic offsets; excellent agreement with the sloan magnitudes
-  apparently there are two fields in w1 which have sloan data, will try to make a comparison of these fields
-  Yannick will send the (RA,DEC) of each W$ fields and Mathis will prepare the SDSS catalogues in these fields for comparison.

Panorapix, Anis
-  Changing contrast and luminosity has been speeded up a lot; it is now at around 10fps
-  Attempts are now being made to implement this in a Qt interface; some problems with the synchronisation between shaders/Qt, but once this is sorted out work will start on handling larger images with the 'multi-pass' procedure
-  currently there is a limit of 4000x4000 in the largest possible block can be displayed
-  Deadline is end of June to display a full-sized Megacam image with shaders and contrast control

Scamp: Emmanuel
-  Still problem with positioning in the matching, shear and angles calculations not quite correct; several bugs found, but there is some small bug which can't be found
-  Once this bug is fix it should help a lot in the edge of the field where the distortions are large
-  In some very-wide fields there are some problems which seem to be perhaps because the correct value of POSANGLE_MAXERR has not been set; will double check that the correct configs exist on the machines which process very-wide data

PI data Mireille
-  Linwai data has been delivered, and everything seems to fine
-  QF z counts is not correct; these should be replaced by correct counts from cfhtls in QFITS-in/out by Fred
-  Dougados query for star-galaxy separation: ticket closed, Monin and Dougadous should be trying to find faint stars with our classification method
-  Tully data not noted yet
-  Annie Bobin data; need to know what the astrometric requirement for these data is. Most recent Annie Robin 04AF09 RunID QFITS-in will be graded by Mireille
-  L05B (wide data T03+/T04) data: QFITS-in done, all noted, ready for SPICA once the L02/L05 on mix4 be QFITS-in-ed.

Wircam, Chiara
-  Loic has made available wircam images which do NOT have the sky background subtracted; these images are being downloaded from CFHT right now (Henry suggests starting two wgets in parallel to speed things up. Chiara found features on newly loaded WIRCAM images that look like dust, as if images were not flat-fielded.
-  Chiara leaves for one week on the 1st of June: can the data be reprocessed for then (or can the stack generation be re-started?)
-  Other than COSMOS, no other WIRCAM-PI data are waiting to be processed
-  Henry will write to Dave Thompson and ask him if we can evaluate his pipeline at TERAPIX

Web pages
-  Chiara is looking for technical presentations about TERAPIX to put on the intranet
-  Should be clear which material are public and which are not public
-  Unfortunately some materials which should be in the intranet are in the public internet.
-  We have find an old presentation from Gerard 2002 on the database; it's probably on his old laptop (tgvix). Laurent could check.
-  We need to find a .ppt presentation from Yannick at Meudon on the virtual observatory
-  Need too find presentations from Jean-Christophe on skywatcher; there should be several

Outreach, poster
-  NO OK yet from Veillet about the public outreach poster
-  Deadline moved to next week

EFIGI
-  Last few bugs have been removed from the interface
-  Summary of the status of the groups (Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse)
-  Classification needs to start soon in order to be ready for the next EFIGI meeting (June 13-14)
-  EADS proposal in progress

EYE Neural network training, Chiara, Emmanuel
-  Still in progress, but no definitive results yet
-  Many bad detections which were not filtered

-  Still in progress; the last results showed a better behaviour with good seeing images, at the price of a lower efficiency at filtering cosmic rays. A new training has been started with a decreased weighting of real objects with respect to artifacts.

Other matters

-  request from Chiara to meet in the coming weeks to make a decision about obsolete and confusing web pages.

from dotproject
-  Only pipeline account can run SPICA. Yannick forgot to answer to Laurent.
-  Jean-Christophe skywatcher
-  Hardware: mix was upgraded, but without announced
-  mix3,mix4; where are we?
-  Status of pix7?

Forum
-  Public release scheduled for thursday.
