Minutes for the terameeting of June 18th 2007

CFHTLS T04 processing

 Mireille has removed 5 out of 451 ldacs of D3-85%-i. She sees large improvements, almost as good as those seen by increasing ASTREF_WEIGHT. Emmanuel has copied the LDACs to his machine for further investigations later this year.
 We are now waiting for the multicolour image to check whether there are any shifts with respects to the other channels.
 Henry should modify his script to compute effective areas from .reg files this week to support the WCS format. Care should be taken about regions included in others. More generally, the pb of computing effective area should be clarified for T05: which software? In any case, all software used in the pipeline must be available on SVN.
 The CADC-TERAPIX interface is currently being set up by JJ Kavelaars, S.Gaudet Y.Mellier and F.Magnard.

MEGACAM P.I.

 The 07AD89 and 07AD85 data have been downloaded. They should now be run through QualityFITS.

Hardware/system

 Fred will remove the dreaded SMART "long" test on ALL machines by the end of the week and set all readahead values to 512 blocks. The readeahead pb will be investigated again when SWarp is improved.
 Fred and Yannick will call Mathias this afternoon to discuss the compromises to be made for the PNPS machine.
 Gregory will not care about the background until the 20th
 Fred will conduct some multiterabyte image transfers through Condor between mix8, mix9 and mix10 this week, and report back on Thursday.
 Fred and Gregory will work on Gregory's laptop problem this afternoon.

Software developments

* Fred proposes to address the weight conversion issue (to 16 bit) by adding a dynamic range keyword to Bertin software, before converting weightmaps with MissFITS (with a new option). * The pipeline deadline and meeting of the 20th of June is postponed to Friday 22nd at 15:00, to avoid conflict with Gregory's deadline on the satellite trail software.

Web

* Yannick and Henry will take care about the web link problem introduced by the site "cleaning" done by Chiara. * Yannick agrees with Emmanuel's answer concerning the PI feedback form. All specific comments shall be directed to an optional "suggestions" form field. * Gregory has a logo candidate to propose for the WIRCAM documentation. Unfortunately it is on the hard drive on his dead laptop!
