Minutes for the terameeting of December 4th 2007
Present: Yannick, Mireille, Henry Joy, Emmanuel, Gregory, Fred (partly).
Emmanuel's summary document
Operations
check of T04 photometry: Yannick will ask Mathias if he can prepare a report on the photometric homogeneity of the CFHTLS T04 exposures. Mathias can benefit from the experience of Chris Pritchett during his stay at IAP (Chris has participated to the calibration of CFHTLS). Henry Joy says that Herve Aussel has the tools to compare the contents of LDAC files to a reference catalogue. deadline: December 13.
T05 test data: It is likely that TERAPIX will receive no new data from Jean-Charles before mid-December.
Binary logs: The data mentioned by Mireille are in the 4th FITS extension. The example table is in mellier on the cluster.
Henry Joy will fix the AB-Vega conversion values in the WIRCam doc, as well as on the website (deadline: next Friday).
The QualityFITS started by Henry Joy on Lise Deharveng's WIRCAM data has finished tonight on mix10.
Henry Joy will notify J.-G. Cuby and P.Hibon that the D1 are ready to be downloaded today.
Emmanuel will check with Jean Guibert that he has downloaded the data prepared by Mireille. Update: done.
Chris Willott wants to release the WIRDS and COSMOS data at CADC: Henry Joy wants to write a paper about the COSMOS data before February. Yannick will discuss this matter with J.J Kavelaars tomorrow evening.
Henry asks about the order of WIRCAM processing. Yannick says we stick to the order defined by Chiara.
Developments
Accessing the images to be ingested from the database: Gregory will fill the database table with the list of machines that store the data (fcix* and ftpix). He will add a new tab with the Condor-driven ingestion before removing the old ingestion scheme. Deadline: end of the week.
Emmanuel suggests to store the data in a directory tree based on program IDs (RUNID in the case of CFHT).
Checksum computations: Fred proposes to add MD5 computations as soon as the data have been downloaded, as a "system feature". Emmanuel and Yannick are worried that this solution may not be applied systematically. It is decided that Gregory will in a first time add the MD5 computation and update of the database in his ingestion script. deadline: end of the week. The computation of MD5 may be replaced with a check of an existing MD5 once an automated MD5 computation procedure at download time is active on the data servers.
Hardware/System
Defective memory modules on mix7: it/they will be replaced by Agorus when they come to deliver the QWERTY replacement keyboards. No date for now.
Emmanuel will meet with Fred and Yannick this afternoon concerning the system passwords.
Yannick mentions that STSDAS and other modules are not in the IRAF version installed by Henry Joy. Henry Joy will try to complete the install.
Fred has installed fcix3 and fcix4; although there is still a problem of screws on fcix4.
Fred reports that there will be a global power shutdown at IAP each year to tighten up wires.
Fred will ask Gilles what can be done with the old pix (pix1,2,3,4). deadline: end of the week. Update: Emmanuel has discussed with Gilles and sent info on the teralist.
Next terameeting: probably next Monday 3 pm
