Minutes for the terameeting of February 19th 2007

Yannick's summary document

Processing T0004:

 QFITS-in : Mireille is currently grading the Deep images. Still about 600 to grade. Yannick graded all Wide and Very Wide and started to grade some Deep. Laurent will unlock the access to all Wide images produced using the first QFITS release that have not been graded yet. Laurent will process again all grade-D images, then Mireille and Yannick will grade them.

 Laurent will send an email to JJ at CADC to get the skyprobe information on all Megacam images recently transferred to Terapix.

Release T0003:

 One should clarify the naming problem for the T0003 data. The naming page contains the necessary precisions. Mireille will produce a short synthesis and Henry will send an explanatory e-mail to JJ. Note: the .cat files are in ASCII, but one should also protect all the related LDAC. Fred will take care of this.

MEGACAM PI data:

 Mathias has completed the 04AF09 stacks, checked the colour images and the QFITSout results. Mireille has checked that everything was OK.

 Given the difficulties encountered by Mathias for learning the grading process in QFITSin, Mireille will carry out the grading of the 58 exposures from 05AF14. Mathias will check these grades to understand the way Mireille decides.

 Marguerite Pierre's 06BF11 data: Fred will contact Kanoa once more to know what is up at CFHT concerning these data.

WIRCAM:

 See Loic's summary of the video-conference.

 Chiara has started the subtraction in 2nd pass onLise Deharveng's data.

 Henry is running some tests to provide quantitative estimates on the Willott data (final stacks).

 Chiara is currently running new sky subtraction on Willot' data, without masking the vertical/horizonthal pattern, but still masking objects. She will try with 1-sigma and 5-sigma masking threshold criteria. Long process: 1 week per sigma...

 Chiara pointed out again the need mix7 ressources for WIRCAM, while mix7 is also used for MEGACAM data. In particular mix7:raid1/2 are 85% full. Yannick will send an email to ask all terapixian to clean their working disk space. Fred will call quickly for quotation for a mix9-like node: 2 raids, as much disk space as possible, total 15keuros (including a fraction of a rack, switch, UPS).

Hardware, system management:

 See comment above on mix9-like for Wircam.

 Sl2S call for quotation done, still waiting for feedback.

 fcix3/4 delivered. Not installed yet. Laurent confirmed there is still enough space, so installing fcix3/4 is not urgent. 1TB of this disk space will be for Jean-Charles Elixir data (backup). Fred will see Rene Verriere about urgent technical issues, if any.

 Following Laurent's request for a web-based bug tracking system, Fred will install "flyspray" on mix. Laurent suggest "we" (developpers) should all use it, instead of emails.

Software:

 See reports from Emmanuel (Scamp, FITS lib) and Chiara (MISSFITS)

 Following Chiara's request, Fred will implement new QFITS options (background estimates using object masking option, SCAMP XML ouput) quickly. URGENT.

Gregory activities:

 Got the T0002/T0003 pipeline description document.

 Looked at the Terapix database organisation. Gregory found the organisation/descrption really hard to understand. A meeting on this point will be organised tomorrow afternoon, with Gregory, Laurent, Fred and Chiara.

 Spent some time in understanding Panorapix. While this action is not urgent (Anthony should start working on Panorapix in April), Gregory can proactice and look at the code and documentation immediately, in parrallel to other activities, in order to get ready by April 1st.
